PC Harpoon > Tutorials > Connect to Mypage via Windows Explorer FTP
Applies to Windows XP / Vista / 7
This tutorial outlines how to connect to the SIU Mypage web server FTP through Windows Explorer.
- Note: You must already be registered with SIU's Mypage to use their FTP hosting services.
1. Begin by opening Windows Explorer

2. Ensure the address bar is displayed. If not, right click the toolbar and select "Address Bar"

3. Now click within the address bar and type [ ftp://mypage.siu.edu ] and press 'Enter'

4. A box will pop up asking you for your SIU login credentials. Your user name is your
Dawg Tag # and the password is your regular network password.

5. You are now in your SIU web space via Windows Explorer. You can easily click and drag files and folders into the FTP. You can also place an index.html file in the root folder. Your http:// address will contain your SIU email user name, then the index.html file.
Alternatively, you can access any file you upload to your Mypage via the internet. The 2nd example below demonstrates how I would download or link to Botswana Term Paper.docx
Examples:
http://mypage.siu.edu/emailusername/index.html
http://mypage.siu.edu/emailusername/Botswana_Term_Paper.docx
